‘Capturing fresh, provocative and dramatic content from the surrounding world and above, to offer new and beautiful perspectives’
WESTERN SYDNEY AIRPORT
Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport represents Australia's first major international airport terminal in over 50 years. Designed by Zaha Hadid Architects, COX Architecture, and Woods Bagot, the terminal's sculptural form draws inspiration from the natural landscape, with sweeping curves and dramatic cantilevers that evoke the movement of flight. Commissioned to film this landmark project—a career-defining highlight—the work involved the extraordinary privilege of flying a drone on the runway to capture the terminal's form from unique vantage points. Working alongside these world-class architects to document their vision resulted in footage that showcases both the grand scale of this transformative infrastructure and the refined details that establish a bold new gateway for Sydney's western region.
CENTRAL TRAIN STATION
I loved capturing this project for Woods Bagot and John McAslan + Partners. Central Train Station's roof design is absolutely stunning—it creates such a sense of space and lightness that perfectly complements the darker heritage brickwork. One of my favourite moments is the scene where a woman spots her friend amid the morning rush hour crowd. Waterloo Metro is equally beautiful, with its distinctive dark brown custom perforated mesh wall panels. The artwork featuring the Aboriginal boy and the footprints running along the escalator walls brings such a warm, welcoming sense of community to the space.
In a world saturated with visual content, creating meaningful impact demands more than just beautiful imagery. Every shot I capture is intentionally crafted to reflect the deeper story of a project - its purpose, its relationship to people and place, and the vision behind it. I specialise in translating complex architectural and infrastructure projects into compelling visual narratives and revealing the human dimension of built environments through both aerial and ground perspectives.
YELLAMUNDIE LIBRARY
Captured over two days for fjcstudio, Yellamundie Library is a transformative community landmark nominated for the prestigious IFLA/Baker & Taylor Award as one of four nominees for 'Best New Public Library in the World'. The building's distinctive curvilinear form was inspired by the Georges River's gentle curve, with rippling surfaces and circular glazed windows that draw natural light while framing views of city and landscape. The multi-level design celebrates the ecologies of Country, from lush riparian landscapes to the Cumberland Plain's soft greens, with children's spaces positioned at the top in whimsical hammock-like lounges. This highly sustainable 6 Green Star building achieves environmental performance through a sophisticated five-layer glass skin with low-emissivity coatings and ceramic frit patterns.
BARANGAROO
I loved filming Barangaroo Station Park for Arcadia Landscape Architecture—a project that has won both an Australian Good Design Gold Award and the AILA National Award of Excellence for Infrastructure. Set against Sydney Harbour, this metro station entrance seamlessly integrates the portal, foreshore, pedestrian paths, and artwork while honouring the site's cultural and archaeological heritage. The design weaves together urban streetscape, biodiverse parklands, and the sandstone cove of Nawi Cove, with innovative use of oyster shells as aggregate and thoughtful integration of Indigenous stories and Country—described by the jury as "one of the most scenic metro entries in the world."

DARLINGTON PUBLIC SCHOOL
Darlington Public School, designed by fjcstudio, has been awarded the prestigious 2024 World Architecture Festival Building of the Year. Located near Redfern and Newtown, the school features linear brick forms and a curvilinear perforated metal screen defining fluid gathering spaces. The jury praised how "topography and landscape, inside and outside, form and materials, flow seamlessly in an unexpectedly delightful way." The design honours Indigenous culture through preserved and repainted aboriginal art murals throughout the building.
NEWMARKET
Arcadia Landscape Design designed this beautiful space in Randwick's Newmarket neighbourhood, located on the site of the former Inglis stables. This area, with its incredibly rich history, has been thoughtfully transformed through an award-winning masterplan that honors the past while creating diverse housing and vibrant public spaces. Newmarket Randwick represents a seamless blend where Randwick's heritage thoughtfully stitches into its present.
We were blessed with perfect conditions for filming—a warm spring day complete with a gentle breeze, singing birds, and a beautiful atmosphere that brought the space to life.
My journey into architectural filming grew from a foundation in graphic design and over 15 years as an art director. What began as an extension of my design-trained eye evolved into a passion for capturing the intersection of architecture, landscape, and human experience. I specialise in aerial and ground filming for major infrastructure projects and award-winning architecture, working with firms like Zaha Hadid Architects, COX Architecture, Smart Design Studio, and Aspect Studios. My approach goes beyond documentation—I capture the atmosphere, movement, and moments that bring exceptional design to life, revealing the deeper story of each project.
BUNDARRA
The prominent corner site at South Dowling and Fitzroy Streets marks a striking eastern gateway to Surry Hills with its distinctive twisted form. Smart Design Studio's design uses slanting green zinc fins on double-curved glass curtain walls to manage solar gain while maximising natural light. It wasn't until the drone was airborne that the building's transparency became clear—filming revealed how the sculptural fins and curved glass generate shifting light patterns throughout the day. The project received the 2025 UDIA Development Award for Excellence in Commercial Development and a 2025 Commendation in the AIA NSW Architecture Awards for Commercial Architecture.
