Green Square Town Center
In 2001, McGregor Coxall, with Wiel Arets Architects (Netherlands) and Turner Associates Architects, won an international design competition for a new town centre at the heart of Sydney's Green Square development. The project proposes sustainable typologies of living, working and leisure above the existing Green Square railway station — a catalyst for an airport-linked, multi-modal transport hub supporting a diverse series of civic places. Three hovering building forms partition a continuous public domain, defining three plazas: transport, civic and neighbourhood, accommodating uses from sports and cinema to library, education, retail and residential.
